Belinda Parsons is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, and The University of Melbourne completing a Bachelor of Music Performance in Voice (Contemporary, Jazz, and Improvisation), A Diploma of Teaching with a double major in music (Voice), and a Master of Teaching with a double major in music (Voice). Belinda has also completed level 1 and 2 of the esteemed Estill Voice Training. Her professional credits include: Cats World Tour, Cats Runaway to the Circus, Cats Tour of Asia, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Eureka, Mack and Mabel (Production Company), Crusade, Boxed In, Life’s A Circus, Crossroads, H.M.S Pinafore, Hello Dolly, Into The Woods, The Sound of Music.
Belinda has been performing as a vocalist for 20 years, pursuing a career in Musical Theatre, Teaching, Live Performance, and Session Recording. Belinda is experienced in teaching and performing in several vocal styles including Musical Theatre, Pop, Rock, Soul, RnB, Classical, Cabaret, Jazz and Improvisation, and Folk. All lessons are based on a classical singing technique, and then focus is adapted to your preferred style. Belinda feels that versatility across all styles is an advantage in this industry, and encourages students to be adaptable. Vocal health, correct technique, and singing safely are absolutely essential to maintain longevity of your voice – you will need it for a very long time!
Belinda is a regular performer at Melbourne’s prestigious live music venues, and runs her own original ensemble ‘Beetet’, Jazz Quintet, and is the vocalist in the Matt Amy Really Big Band.
Belinda has a strong base for technique, interpretation, and using different voice qualities. She is able to adapt vocal technique across a range of genres and provides a safe space for students to explore these techniques. Belinda teaches a range of students from early secondary to mature age students. Belinda is also a Specialist in teaching VCE Contemporary Voice students.
Lessons can be arranged for 1/2 hour, 45 minute, or 1 hr. Please inquire for pricing.and Musical Theatre students from various performing arts schools. Belinda teaches private students from home, at Wantirna College, and Heathmont College.
