Bio

I first picked up the bass at the age of 14, playing in high school bands and the local pub covers scene, and after a taste of the musician’s life I decided to study at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. I was awarded a BA Hons in Applied Music in 2004 and since then I have been fortunate enough to travel the world playing music.

European, Canadian and Australian tours and life aboard a few cruise liners have been interspersed with a varied domestic gigging and recording schedule. These appointments have spanned many genres including jazz, hip hop, folk, pop, rock, country, rnb, soul and funk.

I have a wealth of teaching experience in both private and classroom situations, striving to offer students a relaxed yet informative setting to explore a wide array of musical concepts.

Craig is an amazing teacher, his theory and technical skills are at the top of the game. He makes it easy to understand and tailors lessons around your skill level and musical genres. I would highly recommend him. $50 an hour is cheap as chips for really helpful lessons. You will see results instantly if you apply what he teaches you.

Craig is a champion when it comes to teaching bass, i have been teaching myself over the past couple of years and got to the point of needing a teacher. Craig is exactly what i needed in a teacher. hes really good at understanding where you are at if you are self taught which i thought was going to be a complete mission in my case and is really great with his exercises to get your techinique and groove into shape!

Since learning with Criag, I have improved a lot on my bass technique. He guided me to exercises that are slightly beyond my comfort zone. After a week’s practice when I come back, although I’m always satisfied with my progress, he encourages me and gives me frank and insightful comments. With his help, I think I’m making great progress and becoming the bass player that I want to be.

Craig is an awesome bass guitar tutor, I started to learn playing bass guitar this year and I felt lucky that I have received so many advices from Craig. With his help I avoided many mistakes and bad habits that new bass guitar players might have. The learning processes is flexible as he offers different materials to practice and sometimes I would bring my own practices pieces and ask for his advice. He is very patient with students and I will keep learning with him.

Craig’s skill in tailoring a unique and customised lesson plan is unmatchable. He was able to lift the veil on a lot of the mystery behind bass playing and how it relates to music theory. My playing has risen from an intermediate level to a far more advanced level and I would have no hesitation in recommending Craig for even the most accomplished musician to book in and get a lesson. I wish I could’ve learned from Craig from the start so that I could benefit from a full lesson plan.

Gus G

a class tailored for myself with loads of exercises that made me improve a lot in a short period of time. I still have to develop a little bit more my relationship with the metronome but give us time. Gus

I look forward to hearing from you!
