Bio
I am a musician and educator with a degree in Jazz Performance from Monash University (Double Bass). Currently based in Clifton Hill, just north of Melbourne’s CBD.
My professional experience includes performing and recording rock, funk/soul, jazz and improvised music, and performing interstate at various music festivals. I have also completed musical courses in Italy and New York. I am currently employed as an instrumental teacher (bass/guitar/piano) and ensemble director at Green Room Concept Studios, electric bass tutor at Preston High School, keyboard teacher at several primary schools and a multi-instrumental teacher at Green Tree Music.
I have studied with some of Australia’s greatest musicians, including Tony Gould, Robert Burke, Simon Starr, Tamara Murphy, Jordan Murray, Paul Williamson, Frank di Sario and Tony Floyd.
Teaching Info
My aim is to develop in all students the attitude and skills required for a rewarding long-term relationship with music. This begins with gaining an understanding of what level the student is at and what they want to achieve. From there, I will focus on engaging and encouraging the student, working with them to establish a path of learning that is enjoyable and yields satisfying results.
In addition to bass guitar, I can offer beginner lessons in piano and guitar. I also teach in specialised areas, such as theory or particular styles of music.
I am a firm believer that the skills involved in learning music in this way can benefit all areas of a person’s life, as they have done for me.
I am currently offering lessons in-person or over Zoom.
