Bio

With over ten of music teaching experience, both in school programs and privately, Judy can cater her lessons to suit the individual’s needs. This could include students preparing for AMEB & VCE examinations, or University Auditions, those just starting their musical journey, or those who just want to have some fun and enjoy their hobby.

Judy studied her bachelor of Music at The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and has been working as a freelance theatre musician extensively for the past 12 years and has experience doubling on Saxophone, Flute and Clarinet in Musical Theatre Productions. She also has an abundance of orchestral experience in playing with the Melbourne University Wind Symphony, The Australian International Opera Company, and the Stonnington Symphony Orchestra. Judy has also undertaken international performance opportunities such as two opera tours in China, and an artist residency in Banff, Canada.

Judy offers in-person lessons in Strathmore, or online via Zoom. Lessons are and always will be a safe, inclusive space for anyone and everyone.

Judy is passionate about teaching students of all levels of experience.
Judy adapts to each student’s learning style and likes to work towards goals agreed on between herself and the student. This could be preparing for AMEB or VCE examinations, University auditions, or just playing tunes that they enjoy and want to learn. Ultimately, Music should be a fun and safe space to explore creativity and learn some new skills!

Judy always tries to make the learning environment as enjoyable, and fun as possible, she will use a variety of books and techniques to keep younger children engaged in learning while still ensuring they learn musical elements such as rhythm & note recognition, sound production, posture, and sight reading.

Judy has a Working with Children Check, Victorian Police Check, and First Aid Training.
