Teaching Info

I aim to provide a positive learning environment, encouraging students to assist in building their confidence and developing their skills and own passion for music, whilst ensuring all correct technique and training is provided.

I am serious about providing fulfilling lessons, whether it be working toward music exams or learning for enjoyment. Students should be prepared to practise at home as I am committed to using their time efficiently.

Lessons have a sense of structure and progress whilst keeping it enjoyable and allowing students to reach their music goals.

Students will  have tasks provided to them so they are able to practise effectively at home.

Beginners will use a method book and learn correct technique, note reading and counting, which sets a firm foundation for progressing into more advanced works later.

Music theory is incorporated into lesson work but can also be taken as a separate study with formal exam preparation available.

Musical analysis is used to show students patterns and ways to help them take the mystery out of their pieces.

From there, as students become more experienced, they will build more technique and musical expression, which will provide a better understanding of the style of music they are playing and allow them to learn other pieces with ease.
