I’m Rose, a musician and guitarist located in Melbourne. I am offering private one on one lessons for students of all ages and levels.
I am a qualified and experienced teacher, with a primary accreditation in the Suzuki Method and a WWC. I specialise in teaching guitar for students aged 5 and up.
I have experience teaching adolescents to adults as well, guiding them in classical guitar technique and building a repertoire of solo guitar music. This includes for exam and performance preparation at VCE and tertiary levels.
For youngsters, I begin with the Suzuki method. This method builds technique for finger-style playing on the nylon string (or classical) guitar. Suzuki Method lessons are run with a “learning through play” approach, where musical games help build your child’s skills in music such as intonation, rhythm, and so on. A hands on parent involvement distinguishes how your child learns in the Suzuki Method, as parents are present in lessons and help guide short practice sessions at home.
Lessons are run and paid for on a school term basis. Small student performances can be organised!
I completed the Master in Music Performance (2018) and am due to complete the Master of Teaching (2021).

For beginners and younger students, I go by the Suzuki Method approach. Please get in touch with me if you would like more information regarding the Suzuki Method. It is a highly effective method in teaching guitar to children from as young as 5 years onwards ~
I teach fingerstyle guitar on nylon string (or classical) guitar.
Please enquire with me regarding purchasing guitars and other equipment. As a general rule of thumb, I recommend Altamira guitars to all students. They have well crafted solid-top guitars at an excellent price point. See www.altamiraguitars.com.au for more information.
