Teaching Info

Whether you are a beginner looking to take up your first instrument or an advanced player pursuing a career as a violinist/violist, I will individually tailor your lessons to ensure they are challenging, rewarding, and most importantly – fun! I primarily teach traditional classical method, focusing on correct playing technique, intonation, tone, musicality and expression, as well as training the ear to a high level. This is combined with a strong foundation in note reading and a practical understanding of music theory as it applies in both classical and contemporary music. In addition, I have extensive experience teaching other modern and traditional styles including jazz, celtic, folk, gypsy, pop, metal… you name it. A contemporary program can be developed for students who wish to explore other styles, or incorporated into a classical program… the possibilities are limitless!

I can also teach written music theory for those studying for exams as part of longer 45min or 1hr weekly lessons.

I am always excited to take on new students, so please feel free to email or call me with any questions!

I look forward to learning together in the near future.
