She completed her Associate of Music Australia (A.Mus.A) Diploma on Violin in 2007, and a Bachelor of Popular Music Degree in 2013. Natasha currently teaches violin, viola and piano at a Melbourne school, in addition to a large number of private students, specialising in individual tuition on violin for students of all ages (five to adult) and levels (beginners to advanced). She has extensive experience teaching the AMEB and VCE syllabus, with students consistently achieving great results in exams (an average grade of Honours), and continue to meet and exceed their own personal goals.
Natasha performs professionally as a classical and contemporary violinist, as well as working in recording studios as a session musician. She is trained in audio engineering and production, and is a proficient songwriter, composer and arranger of music.
Whether you are a beginner looking to take up your first instrument or an advanced player pursuing a career as a violinist/violist, I will individually tailor your lessons to ensure they are challenging, rewarding, and most importantly – fun! I primarily teach traditional classical method, focusing on correct playing technique, intonation, tone, musicality and expression, as well as training the ear to a high level. This is combined with a strong foundation in note reading and a practical understanding of music theory as it applies in both classical and contemporary music. In addition, I have extensive experience teaching other modern and traditional styles including jazz, celtic, folk, gypsy, pop, metal… you name it. A contemporary program can be developed for students who wish to explore other styles, or incorporated into a classical program… the possibilities are limitless!
I can also teach written music theory for those studying for exams as part of longer 45min or 1hr weekly lessons.
I am always excited to take on new students, so please feel free to email or call me with any questions!
I look forward to learning together in the near future.
