Bio
My name is Sophie, I have been playing the piano since the age of 5 and completed my AMEB exams in Australia before moving to Europe in 2005. I studied music as part of my IB Diploma program and upon my graduation, I was accepted into the Hellenic Conservatory where I studied Piano Performance. I have also undertaken studies in Piano at the University of Indianapolis. Over the years I have been involved in a number of performances as both a soloist and as a member of various groups and have performed classical repertoire and modern music.
I have extensive experience teaching music, having done so since 2007 and since moving back to Australia in 2014, I have worked towards establishing The Piano Lab which is my attempt to share my passion for music and piano with others and offer students of all ages and levels a place where they can hone their skills and have fun learning to play the piano.

I aim for all lessons to be both fun and challenging and I create my lesson plans based on both my experiences as a student and a teacher, my knowledge of piano pedagogy and on communication and feedback I receive from my students, always taking into consideration the music they wish to play and the goals they have for the future.
My teaching philosophy is based on many years of study under esteemed pianists from whom I have gained broad knowledge of piano pedagogy and methods, which I implement in my lessons. Finally, I always strive to help students not only realise their full musical potential but also allow them to discover the joys of music.
